Ciudad Bolívar

Ciudad Bolívar (called Angostura) capital of the Bolívar State, was founded in the year of 1764 and later baptized with the name of Ciudad Bolívar in honor of the Liberator. It is declared a National Historic Monument because of its architectural features and the importance of the events that took place here. In Angostura (current Ciudad Bolívar) the Liberator Simón Bolívar declares the «War to Death» to the Spanish Crown and installs the Angostura Congress where a speech of high moral, social and political content is delivered.
